Huawei and TIA to Launch Certification Program to Propel Turkish Women in ICT to the Global Stage
Huawei and the Turkish Informatics Association (TIA) are launching a cloud development training and global certification program for 225 Turkish women in ICT.
The 'TIA Women in ICT' HUAWEI Cloud Certification Program, organized in collaboration with Huawei and the Turkish Informatics Association, stands out as a significant step toward making Turkish women competitive in the global ICT arena. As part of the training program, which will start on September 15, a total of 225 female trainees from universities across Türkiye will receive cloud developer training. Those who successfully pass the exam at the end of the training will receive a Cloud Developer Certificate with global validity for three years.
Rahmi Aktepe, President of the Turkish Informatics Association: "The Turkish Informatics Association has been striving for many years to ensure that women take part in technology-related professions. In this context, we are an association that has received the DiversIT Gold Certificate award from CEPİS, which is the most important IT organization in Europe and of which we are a member. Our TBD Women's Working Group is actively involved in management and continues its efforts. We are fully confident that the 'TBD Women in Informatics' HUAWEI Cloud Certification Program, which we have carried out in collaboration with Huawei to highlight Turkish women in the global technology world, will be successful. Initially, we aim to reach hundreds, and eventually thousands, of women in the field of informatics."
Ömer Faruk Şahin, PACD Director of Huawei Türkiye said, “As Huawei, one of our key priorities is to empower women in the IT sector and make them competitive on the global stage. The training and certification program we will offer to women in ICT in Türkiye will not only enhance their skills but also contribute to the digital transformation of our country. Increasing the participation of women in the ICT sector is of great importance for innovation and diversity. We are proud to collaborate with TBD in this significant partnership to support the growth and development of the ICT ecosystem in Türkiye. We believe that this program will be a crucial opportunity for Turkish women in ICT to prove themselves in the global workforce market. Every participant who successfully completes the training will receive a globally recognized certificate and secure a strong position in the technology world of the future; we have full confidence in this.”
The program was created in line with the Turkish Informatics Association's mission to support the ICT ecosystem and Huawei's goals to develop ICT talent. All women who graduated from the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics departments of universities before December 31, 2021, are eligible to apply for the program. The first phase of the training will begin on September 15 at Kayseri Abdullah Gül University, İzmir Ege University, and Elazığ Fırat University. In these universities, a total of 75 participants will receive hybrid training, and in-person exams will be conducted.
The second phase will be held between October 1-15 at Erzurum Atatürk University, Ankara OSTİM Technical University, and Eskişehir Anadolu University. The final phase will take place between October 16-30 at Adana Alparslan Türkeş Science and Technology University, Istanbul University, and Antalya Akdeniz University. Participants who successfully complete the training program will gain strong competencies in the digital world and obtain a competitive edge in the global workforce market.
While developing their technical skills in Huawei's cloud technologies, participants will also open doors to significant career opportunities in the ICT sector. Applications and registrations will be conducted through TIA’s website, and the process will be managed by TIA.
